Hi
I just flashed my xbox phatt.
But i saw a new gadget X360key http://xk3y.com/
Could save on the price of blank disks and reduce hassle
The cost will be
£78 plus the cost of a external HDD http://is.gd/7Q7umF
so maybe as much as £120
I watch High def movies and TV using a HDD and a sumvision cyclone 2+ player.
This would be a similar kind of thing.
An initial expense, then ease of use, and saving money?
My questions
1 When is it released?
2 Is it going to work in the long run (their Wii project kind of failed)?
3 Will I have to unscrew the xbox again to fit the product?
4 Will i be able to use disk games as well?
5 Can i use my DVD key i got using jungle flasher
6 will games load faster?
7 At the moment i install games to my HDD to stop poop disk noise, will the be just as fast from the external HDD or will i still need to install to xbox HDD?

What about people like me who do not have a backup of their OFW?
I've never modded myself and (unfortunatly) never asked for a backup of my OFW because (till now) I never had a need for it.

stock firmware is available for every drive type on websites.
extracting the firmware of you drive is either £35 (if you send it off to be flashed) or buy the CK3 tools (price depends on what drive you have, or how easy you 'want it to be' to flash the xbox).
Its tricky to learn but not impossible to do , to flash and/or get drive firmware.

1. They have just yesterday been sending out samples, so hopefully we'll see it soon.
2. The team says that they will keep up to date with updates and whatnot.
3. It's a solderless solution, but you will need to open the box again.
4. It's an ODE or Optical Disc Emulator, so it emulates the drive thinking there's a game there, so I would think that any of the games will work
5. They'll probably have something to do with JungleFlasher, not 100% sure on that.
6. Well, they'll be loading from a HDD, but no one really knows, since there are very few videos of this device in action.
7. You will install to an external HDD, and boot the games off of that!
I think that's all you wanted to know... Hope that helps!

Hi
This is what has happened my explanation
I made a post asking a few questions about the new x360key in a forum called Xbox 360 - Modding & Hacking.
Someone called emcubed asked another question about firmware so i answered as best i could.
then someone called scorpNZ accused me of being a "spammer"? And said he had reported me. edited his post.... and put laughter on it "hehehe"
Then you "ddp" asked me to explain before you ban me.
What has happened is the only explanation i can give
I have been a member since Tuesday 29 June 2004. I am not a spammer (this is easy to verify)
And I would like an explanation of whats going on and why I am being reported by scorpNZ and threatened with a ban from you?
And i would like apologies if appropriate
An apology takes the form of:
1 Say what you did
2 Explain how it affected the people involved

Thanks for the extra info
not sure why I got 2 lots of hostility (is the x360key a taboo topic?)

Well since all these devices haven't been released yet, I can see as to why there aren't any videos of the Wasabi installation. Just give it time really.

I know what you mean
the Wasabi has
[*] eSATA so its faster than USB and or optical drives.
[*] And has an onscreen menu (so no need to get up out the chair) oh yes :)

our conversation was brief, and both sentences had the word ban in them. Maybe I'll get a third sentence like "are you John Connor?"

If you're using Google Chrome, just get AdBlock. It's an extension, and I never see ads on most sites I visit.

ok lot of OT on this post
--
here are the installation guide for wasabi pdf
http://wasabi360.com/download.html
--
wasabi
seems cheaper
and supports esata (faster) connection as well as usb.
also wasabi has onscreen game loading (ie from xbox dash menu)
x360key can have games in folders, but wasabi can only have them in the root dir.
I wonder if the support Hard disk drives that are powered by USB. esata would need a separate power supply but it would be faster.
I'm kind of a 'one wire to unplug' person.
Also i have enough fire risk mini power supplies behind the TV :0
also booting without the HDD switched on (ie no emulated drive) would probably trigger the xbox to flag the event for a ban (from what i hear?)
this would be harder to do with a USB powered drive.
NEITHER support LIVE when switched on.
For me my xbox is flagged
so its more of a time/money saver
lately i have had a few Verbatim miss burns, hence putting of the price of games up to about £2 (shock!)
plus the extra time needed to burn etc
this would cut out the middle man
But i'm concerned about whether it will have support in the future?
And why it only works on some dashboards?

have any of these loaders came out yet?
I don't go on live so I'm not bothered about that.
But they all still seem to be pre orders. I'm in the UK
