i got my xbox 360 modded with the ixtreme 2.0...... how do i know that he actually did it because now im seeing dashboard: 2.0.13599 when before was 2.0.8955?
another thing is how do i rip my original games and back them up?
The only way to be sure that you're on LT+ 2.0 without dumping the firmware is to boot an XGD3 backup. If it plays OK, you've got LT+ 2.0.
That dashboard version is fine. The modder should have updated the dashboard before flashing, so if anything that just shows that he knows what he's doing.
To rip original games you need to use an Xbox 360 drive (BenQ or Lite-On) flashed with 0800 V3 firmware and attached to your PC, and the latest version of Xbox Backup Creator.

thanks for that but last question, to burn games what program and what setting must it be on once it has finished downloading ;)
I use ImgBurn to burn games. Once you have a DVD burner flashed with Burner Max all you need to do is select the .DVD file, set the burn speed and hit the burn button. ImgBurn will burn and verify the disc and as long as it doesn't fail you should be fine. VerbatimDVD+R DL are the recommended discs. Use any other types and your mileage may vary.

The burner funksoulb pointed you to in the link needs to be flashed with Burner MAX firmware in order to burn newer XGD3 games correctly. XGD2 & XGD1 games can be burned with any burner. XGD3 games are are the newest, most recent games (Gears 3, Forza 4, etc), and are too big to fit on a DVD+R DL disc, but the Burner MAX firmware alliviates that problem.
BTW, you can't burn from DVD to DVD.
Rip DVD to ISO with Xbox Backup Creator.
Burn the ISO with ImgBurn.
