Ive recently had my 360 reset glitch hacked and xell reloaded plus freeboot 14699 installed, i connected the kinect up today and its asking for an update, all the info ive read says to download the 14699 system update rename it to $systemupdate and put it o my fat 32 formatted pen drive, will this just install the kinect drivers and software for avatars as the freeboot is alread up to 14699 or do i have to make changes inside freeboot to stop other parts of the update from spoiling the rgh?
Many thanks
Merry xmas and a happy new year

As its a hitachi drive can i do it via usb as ive never been able to get the drive to flash again, it always locks my pc up on boot up, ive got a second hitachi 079 drive i could experiment on that one first, and copy the key number when xell boots up and flash that to the second drive with lt2.0 i suppose

Format a usb pen drive to fat32 using windows. Insert your pen drive in your xbox 360 and also the game that has the update for kinect that you need. I used the new Wipeout. Start up xex menu. Using xex menu create a folder in the root directory of your pen drive named $$ystemupdate. It must be named exactly this. Use xex menu to copy the contence of the $systemupdate folder on the game dvd to the $$ystemupdate folder on your pen drive. There were two files in this folder on the Wipeout game. Turn of your xbox and power back up. Dashlaunch will install the device update and you will be good to go.

Yes just make sure to rename the $systemupdate folder to $$ystemupdate so that it will be recongnized.
