Just a quick question to wrap this up as I'm clearly missing something in other forums. I know that you need 0800 firmware to rip an original xbox 360 xdg3 disc so doe's that mean that the Kreon drives are pretty much obsolete?? I ran xbox backup creator 0345 which although gave me warnings stating doesn't support ap25 or xdg3 it still ripped the full disc. I thought that was what 0345 version was for? I have the Lite-On iHAS124B with burner max so I'm good for burning.
I guess I can now be gone with the Kreon??
Thanks to all and sorry for asking this question probably again :)

Yep, Kreon is no use now. You have to use 0800 to get the required AP2.5 data (which some XGD2 and all XGD3 games have), cos without that, games won't boot and trying to boot one will instantly flag your console.

Thanks guys for your answers. I guess I might be flagged then as I did go ahead a burn a copy with xbc and it returned me straight back to dashboard. I wasn't online so hopefully no flag.
In terms of AP2.5, it doesn't matter if you're online or offline. The act of booting a game that is missing the AP2.5 data, or is patched with out of date AP2.5 data, instantly flags the console, either online or offline. The ability to detect and flag is built into the dashboard itself.
You can tell if your console is flagged by downloading a tool called XVal 2.0 (Google it). If that says "AP25 challenge failed" then you're flagged. If you're not flagged, then just be wary in future!
