i have a lite on dvd drive model dg-162ds fw 74850c do i need special tools to flash it with my laptop i have a-esata port on my laptop which og to a hdd carriage that can take both types of hdd so i might be able to do something with

any help

find out which chipset you have, most compatible is via 6421, but there some nforce that is known to work as well. you will also need to purchase a tx connectivity kit with a probe so you will be able to dump the firmware. there are ways you can make the probe yourself and use your xbox to power the drive but powering the xbox with no dvd drive hooked up to the mobo you are looking for problems with live, it may flag you for a ban.
