Everytime I flash it in windows it says that it has been sucesfully flashed... I just flashed the AL05.exe again and all worked fine and did a restart.

As I have never actually used the drive previously or read a disk with it I think the whole flashing thing has sent me on a massive tangent and the fact is that the drive has been dispached to me with a physical error regarding reading discs.

I am going to return the drive and I am confident the replacement will be fine.... fingers crossed.

Good luck. Sounds like a physical error after all the flashing that didn't fix it and all the trouble it caused you. Post back here with news if you get your replacement and see if it all goes ok if you don't mind :)
