Need help. Have old Hitachi Drive cant play anymore

So I am WAY out of the loop on what i need to do now to my 360. I have been fortunate to have a perfectly working old 360 with an Hitachi drive. I have not needed to re-mod my Hitachi drive for some time. Recently i haven't been able to play new games on it and i was told that with the new version of this games out even the old Hitachi drives need to be re-modded with new firmware to play these new games.

I don't have a problem doing this but i can not find any info on this for Hitachi drives. Am i sol because my drive so old there will be no new firmware for it or is there something im missing.

Edit: oh, its a Hitachi 78 drive i think. Been so long since i had to do anything i cant remember.

The latest firmware for that drive is LT+ 1.91. It supports XGD2 backups and originals and XGD3 originals only. LT+ 2.0 is in progress for that drive and will add support for XGD3 backups.

c4eva said a couple of days ago that LT+ 2.0 for fat Hitachi drives was "almost done" but there's no ETA. If you're in no rush and/or you're not that experienced at flashing drives, I would just wait a while for 2.0 to be released. A lot of the big recent titles (Gears 3, Dark Souls etc.) are XGD3, so you'll need 2.0 to play backups of those anyway.

Ya i have no problem modding it or waiting. I just didnt know if I could do anything again to play backups. Where did you get this info on the hitachi or how best do i stay informed so i know when it does come out ill know.
