Does the new dash update reflash custom firmware to prevent you from playing backup games again?

I'm just going by what I've read here. As far as I've been told, the new dash update reflashes your drive. Unless it doesn't do it to all drives? I'm sure someone else can chime in with more details.

the new dash releasing right now has not been confirmed to reflash yet.
but my liteon has just started another update even though my sammy has yet to ask im getting sick of recovering gamertags.. but ill let you know if it reflashes here in ten minutes

I was originally going under the assumption that the OP was talking about the current dashboard, not the new one, since the new one isn't out yet.

just finished testing dash looks cool and dead rising 2 booted just fine!!
it left my lt 2.0 intact

I have FW 1.9... if anyone was brave enough to test a fw 1.9 console, let me know if its safe to update... well... its never safe to update before flashing back to stock, but I'm willing to try it if others say its been fine...

Ya I was talking about the new dash. It was supposed to be available as of today, but heard it took a while to be released. I havnt even been on my 360 until I know if it reflashes.

i was on LT+2.0 on my 7 series, but i went back to stock before the update. took two tries, but the update went thru. going back to LT+, and i'll keep everyone posted.

ok all, just loaded up JF version 1.90, and was able to extract my key after the update using the PMT method. worked like a charm, and the firmware came up as liteon 0251C. so as far as the update reflashing a liteon drive, i would have to say no... here's the log:

Does the new dash reflash back to stock?
I run LT 1.91 and have regular xbox games still, if the update reflashes without banning then thats great cause ill just play the regular xbox games for now, let me know asap thanks

what about spoofed drives? im stuck on 13599 , because the next update woudn't install due to flashing the drive.
Can i jump straight to this update and not have to put my orignal drive back in? (dont care about getting banned as i have another legit xbox)

The update does check your drive firware like the fall update last year!!!
YES IT DOES CHECK YOUR DRIVE FIRMWARE DO NOT UPDATE WHILE SPOOFED!!!
It will give you a E66 error and stop the update it did to me last night while i was updating my sammy that is spoofed from a ms28 to ms25 i had to flash to stock

What is spoofed? I have a LT2 on a liteon.............. some guy done it, but do not understand your terminology of spoofed? does this relate to Sammy? whatever that is as you metioned earlier your 1.9 works fine

spoofed means you have a different drive in that what was originally in your xbox that was spoofed to look like its the original drive.
sammy is a samsung one of the different drives in the line of multiple drives that xbox 360's have.
I was referring to the samsung lt firmware it only comes as ms28 so when i click the spoof button on jungleflasher it spoofs my firmware to look like ms25 firmware.
And before you ask there is two different revisions of the samsung drive they are known as ms25 and ms28

Updated my dash and my new back ups like md3, skyrim dont work, however NHL 12 etc does............... I have liteon LT2.0........... The TU trick seems to have worked. I had to update to see if i got the ban, but i never got banned althought i know my xbox is flagged with xval............. had to to do the update as i watch sky through my xbox.........

Ability to play all my games off my hdd and not having to get up to do so $120
Not having to get my dvd drive out to flash ever again.. priceless!

Ive updated the dash and my LT+2.0 is still intact, however, my AP2.5 titles no longer work with the TU file trick....damn
Whats the new work around?
