I have two xboxes; one, unopened for live and my older halo 3 special edition for backups. The offline console has not even got the kinect update. It's using iXtreme 1.61, which runs all my backups, even newer ones, that I read I'd need an activate.iso disc for. I also rely on the 0800 mode for backups, with a blaster ck3, so I planned to never update to LT.
I've been reading that the new update may spoil my fun. That it will give a black screen with certain games when running the new dash? Thing is, all these refer to the LT firmwares, am I ok with my old-school pre LT? Maybe if I don't attempt a patch with abgx360, a vanilla iso may work? Or is there patches about to remove the AB25 data completely for offline only use?
You need the new dash for the AP2.5 games to play. So you will need LT+ and the games patched with ABGX (Or manual PPF patch) to boot. if not you'll be flagged, if not already and the game still won't boot.
Thanks for the response. I'm not bothered about being flagged as this console will never touch xbox live again. So there's no way to stick with iextreme 1.61 and still play newer ap2.5 games?
