All of the original xbox forums are locked so I thought I'd ask here. For reasons I won't explain, it would take too long, I renamed my xbox dash board file and my child turned off my xbox before I could rename the new xbox dash file. Now my xbox won't boot. I have it softmodded, I tried the AID/Slacker disks and a linux boot disk but it won't boot from and disks. Any help before I go nutz!!! Thanks, you guys (or girls) are always so helpful.

You could most probably find the answer here by doing a search of the forums or at the links below who are still active for the original xbox

It should boot from an AID disc.

There were 7 different Xbox versions (v1.0 - v1.6), and they had different models of DVD drives in them (4 or 5 different models).
One read DVD-R and CD-RW.
One read DVD+R and CD-RW.
One read DVD+R and CD-RW and CD-R.
One read DVD+R and DVD-R.
ALL will DVD+R DL.

I've used the same Memorex DVD+R DL on literally over a hundred Xboxes covering all versions and drives (soft-modded and hard-modded). Try one.
