I have a jtagged 360 that I set up an external Fantom 2TB HDD to play on. I first converted the format to FAT32 as needed. The jtag (using the latest version freestyle dash)still did not recognize the HDD. I did some research about using the 360 to convert the hdd, which worked. The problem is my PC does not recognize the HDD now. It beeps when it's connected to the pc, but no listing under "My Computer". I went under Disc Management and while it shown there, I am unable to label the drive, re-format or make any changes of any kind. I'm forced to burn the game .iso's and then have Freestyle dash copy the game into the external HDD. A waste of money and DL discs.

lol If it was that easy it would be done. when i left or right click the drive, all options are blocked - grayed out and unselectable. That's why it's so strange. I'm unable to do anything to the drive with my PC.

Thanks though!!

Go back to comp management-disk manager-if there is no "initialize" disk wording in that left column, right clik on the partition & assign a drive letter

Ok. I go to disk management. The fantom hdd is represented by 2 hdd icons. In the manager its listed as Disk 2. It shows that it has two partitions and two blocks of unallocated space. The two hdd icon in the manager are referring to the partitioned blocks of space.

So you see 2 blocks of unallocated space at 259.79 gb & 395.57 gb/ and two sets of partitioned space @ 259.79 gb & 2043.58 gb.

If I right click the unallocated sets I get a menu that will allow me to select New partition, Properties or Help. If I right click the partitioned blocks I'm allowed to select Delete partition or Help.

Even if I have to start from scratch with this drive, any help is appreciated!

Missed the bit about being formatted by the 360 you should be able to ftp from the comp if you have a crossover ethernet cable, the other option is to do what your doing now except use the free software xplorer 360 it will list the folders,my sig also has a link to elitemods, checkout the forum for 360's "how to"

Will do this evening! Quick side question. With the new XDG3 games, can I still extract files and folders to play on an external HDD via xbc and Image Browser?

Extremely saddened to tell that xplorer360 failed to recognize the external hdd. It makes no sense to me why this has become so complicated. When I click open> hard drive or memory card, I get an error message "no FATX drives found". At this point I'd like to get the hdd back to its original state and start over. I'm curious if any else has ever had these headaches, but I guess not lol. Gonna read up ok the ftp trick but I'm getting pretty bummed out.

you need to have the drive connected & running before opening xplorer360.

If after attempting ftp assuming it works for externals & it fails as well, create a post over at elite & link to this topic if worse comes to worse you may have to reformat the drive again this can be done by using either a free partitioning software like easeus or minitool or download gparted & burn to cd to run as a live bootable cd,if using software option you may ave to delete partition first
