Pc power supply n 360 drive?

Im going to flash my 360 drive using my laptop n I have a 360 connectivity kit I have a pc power supply laying around can I just plug that on the wall without been install in a pc to power my 360 drive with the connectivity kit???

if it is an atx, you should be able to find a green wire on the main power connector. ground that wire and you should be good to go.

i dont know what u mean by atx is a regular power supply that came with a computer n i pulled out n replaced with a better one it has all the plugs. It looks like this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817152019 can i just plug the the connectivity cable from the driver the supply n power it on it wont burn anything?

atx is just the form factor of the power supply. it shouldn't do break anything, it will function as if you are running your computer with it. people do it for electronic hobbys all the time.

when i plug the power supply n turn it on it don't do nothing palwill said something about a green cable could that b the problem should i cut that cable of the plug and ground it to what the metal on the case of the power supply?

All you have to do is put a jumper on the 20 pin connector between the green wire and one of the black wires with a large paper clip to turn on the power supply.You can watch this video to show you how.

thanks JST1946 will is still work with my power supply because mine has a on and off switch on the back does that matter?

Yes plug the power cable in the wall and turn the switch on with the jumper on the connetor and you should have power.The fan on the power supply should come on if it is hooked up correctly.
