I got my Xbox 360 with pre flashed Liteon drive about 1 year somewhere in july, but still I am newbie to this flashing ,modding ,hacking. I have read some stuff on the net about flashing, about Jtag, about softmods.
The new XGD3 games needs the LT3.0 firmware, and I probably I dont have that, as I bought the console for about 1 year. I have read about Jungle Flasher. But still is in the confusion, so will the grateful if somebody clears that to me. Heres my questions.
1. As I got the console pre-flashed, so I dont know what firmware its using. And I dont have the stock firmware files. Now, is it necessary to know what firmware version is on if I want to update that to LT 3? And do I need the stock firmware files or something similar to update the current firmware? The procedure that I found all over the internet is probably to flash the stock firmware to LT 3.0. Is the process is same for those drives( I mean like mine), thats already flashed( I mean it doesnt have the stock firmware, so is the process same if it has a different firmware?)?
If it requires a different process then please give a link to a tutorial, or at least give the term that I should google to get that different process.
PS: I cant play black ops, Assassins creed brotherhood
You need the files dummy.bin and key.bin in order to flash the drive or it wont work. It is simpler than flashing LT3.0 to a stock firmmare but i have included a link to the jungleflasher PDF which teaches you step by step on how to do it. In the end it doesnt really matter what custom firmware your as you will be updating to LT3.0
1) Before updating update your custom firmware update dashboard to the latest version as system update 2.0.13599.0 will reflash your firmware back to a original version. Use the USB update method as it is currently safer than connecting to live since your using a old firmware
4) After your drive firmware has been updated and your dashboard is on the latest version remember to run all your games through abgx360 1.0.6 before burning regardless of it being a XGD2/XGD3 game . It is crucial to the safety of your console.
