It's hit or miss. Regardless, you should invest in the TeamX pcb. Make life much easier to lock/unlock for live and flash.

I actually just did one a couple min ago, and it really wasn't that hard to do. I recommend just having the X360USB Pro. Then just buy the Kamikaze Winbond Template from Team Maximus, and it sets up the hole for you. I used a hand drill but it didn't work so well, so used a soldering iron, and it worked like a charm!

But awesome you got it working!

i was very pleased when i didn't mess up, which is completely opposite from what i expected. as i am short on cash and i dont expect to do any more for a while, i will probably hold off on the X360USB pro for now, also my on board sata seems to work perfectly for every drive i have ever flashed. i used a dremel with a .8 mm bit and took plenty of time to do it.

Ya I used a hand drill that came with the Kamikaze Template, but after using it for like 15 min, I decided to use the soldering iron instead. Worked like a charm!

the hand drill is not meant for doing the drilling LOL, just to tap the hole, you would have been drilling for more than 15 minutes!

There are videos online that show people using the hand drill to do the job, and it was taking them 20 min or so. That's when I decided to just use the soldering iron!

well if they were trying to use that drill for doing the mod they didnt need to making a video, at least you figured out the soldering iron is the way to go, about 2 twists and you are done!

the whole "poking a hole in your shiny xbox" thing is probably a little unsettling for some people.
