Right, so here's the situation.

I had a flashed (2.0) V.46 hitachi drive in an xbox that orignally had a lite-on. It's been working fine
(although it is banned from live), however I recently discovered it would not play XGD3 games
(including originals). First, I tried updating to the latest dash using a USB drive - this updated fine
but did not solve the problem. So I then flashed the drive back to stock (powered from the xbox, using
a e-sata point on my laptop - that has always worked before), after this the xbox still would not play
XGD3 originals so I decided to re-flash until I found a solution. However now using the same method
that always works - jungleflasher(latest version) is not detecting my drive (which is now stock) -
So now I can't play backups OR XGD3 originals.

Can anyone help? First of all I need help getting the drive to show up in JF so I can at least get it back
to how it was. Second, even when I've done this can anyone find a solution or shed some light on the
XGD3 originals issue?

Thanks

The reason that XGD3 games won't boot is this: -

Your 360 originally had a Lite-On drive in it which supports AP2.5. All XGD3 games are protected by AP2.5. Since one of the more recent dashboard updates, when you try and boot a game, the OSIG (original drive signature) is checked. The OSIG stored on your MOBO will be that of the original LiteOn, so the console will then try and run the AP2.5 challenges, but you've replaced your drive with one that doesn't support AP2.5, so the challenges fail and the games won't boot.

I don't know why JF is not detecting your drive, so hopefully someone else can help you with that.

Thanks funksoulb!

That makes sense, so just to confirm there's really no-way I'm ever going to be able to play any XGD3 games without getting a new drive or xbox?

There are ways to change the OSIG (JTAG for example), but I know hardly anything about it other than it is possible.

Getting a new Xbox or getting a LiteOn drive for your current Xbox would of course do the trick too.
