i am trying to backup my copy of Skyrim. i downloaded xbc v 2.8 in order to rip the game, but when i put the disk in, the "start" button continues to remain grayed. i dont really know what to do. my burner is HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT30N. is it incapable of reading the disk?
Skyrim is an XGD3 game, you will need xbc 2.9 to rip it, i also had the buttons greyed out even with 2.9, i got over it by installing an older via driver, it was this one (via_raid_520a) hope it helps!!! Also you need a Liteon or Benq drive flashed with 0800 firmware!!!

hey guys,
i have xbc 2.9.0345, and a lite on i flashed with 0800 v.3 fw. what i do is power the drive with my connectivity kit, and eject the tray. connect it to the pc with x360usb pro, and i wait a few minutes then i open xbc 2.9.0345. i then select the lite-on drive, put game in tray and close tray. this has always worked for me. see if works for you. by the way to rip xbg3 disk you need 0800 version 3 firmware flashed to either benq or lite-on.
