Profile not copying back to HDD

My Gamertag profile got corrupt and I have managed to un-corrupt it bt following a guide. But when I try to copy this un-corrupt profile back to the xbox HDD by dragging the file, I just get a cicle with a line through it symbol instaed of a '+' symbol. So its not letting me copy it. I have some how managed to delete my profile that was on the xbox HDD by mistake so have no profile on it now. I am using windows 7, transfer cable and xport360. Can anyone help get my profile bsck onto the xbox HDD. Thank you.

I tried xport in XP and it worked!! I take it it doesnt work in Windows 7??

if xboxlive is available to you why not recover and try whatever it is your doing over again?

Because i was banned i couldnt go on xboxlive and I had accumulated a further 12,000 gamerscore offline, which I didnt want to lose. Anyway I did manage to get the now uncorrupted profile back onto the xbox HDD with Windows XP, Windows 7 didnt let me put it back on.
