Now, in order to play burned games, I flashed it. Let it's new firmware be B
The firmware B could not play XGD3 games so I downloaded Microsoft Update from it's
official website and updated my Xbox via flash USB.
But after the update, I find that my firmware has been reset to A (i.e. Stock firmware)
Here are my questions:
1. Why did this happen?
2. Is it possible to update my Xbox360 WITHOUT getting it reset to stock firmware?
I want to update my Xbox but it's getting reset to stock firmware caused by the
update
3. What should I do if I want to play XGD3 games?
what drive do you have? A / B do us no good. What FW did you actually flash? Updating to current dashes depending on what you came from will flash your drive to stock. Never update without researching if it is safe first.
Your 360 will only get flashed back to stock if you have a dashboard version earlier than 2.0.13146.0 (fat)/2.0.13599.0 (s).
If that's the case, then what you would do is this: -
1. Flash back to stock
2. Update to the latest dashboard version
3. Flash to the latest LT+ version for your drive
4. If your drive supports AP2.5, make sure all of your games are properly patched
If you are already on a dashboard version that's newer than the ones I mentioned, or your 360 is already stock, then you would do the same but just omit step 1.
That will let you play all games that have been released to date, including XGD3 games.
Hey I went to a guy to get LT +3.0 but he says that if I get LT +3.0, I won't be able to play the old games and I'll only be able to play the latest games which are of XGD3 format. What should I do?

What's the point of flashing back to stock? The update will flash it back to stock anyway if it's earlier than 2.0.13146.0 (fat)/2.0.13599.0 (s).
after updating any ap2.5 game or xgd3 game will have to be remade, all other titles are fine. you can play any of the games they just have to be made correctly.
So after the getting the LT +3.0 update, all I have to do is ensure that the XGD3 games I get are properly burnt? And this won't have any effect on the older titles which were released BEFORE the release of XGD3 games?
