I have a xbox with a broken lite on drive, Its a 83850 Phat liteon. I have managed to get the key from the drive. My question us am I able to buy a 74850c and flash is with the correct ket and LT+ for 83850 the drive?

Yes you can. I just replaced a 93450 with 74850. With new dashboards on the 360 all liteons have become 0251 drives. So just use LTPlus-025-v2.0.bin with your key if you are on new dashboard and will be ok.

yes dont follow that your drive is a 93450 or 74850,the firmware used now is 0251 for all liteons drives
