Replacing a Liteon Drive

I've got an Xbox with a busted DVD Drive. It's a Liteon 74850C. Luckily I have a spare Liteon 74850C that I can replace it with, but I'm not sure how to apply my original drive key onto the replacement, can anyone help? Also if I do this is it technically spoofing or is that just if you switch drive types? (e.g. Liteon to Samsung). I want to flash this new drive to LT2.0 after and I've heard you can't update to 2.0 on spoofed drives.

Using Jungle Flasher, you have to dump the key from the broken drive and flash it to the working drive. If you don't understand dumping & flashing, you can physically remove the PCB from the broken drive and put it in the working drive. Either way, the key will be on the working drive, and will match the key on the console's motherboard.

Correct. It's only spoofing if the drives are different models.

Thanks a lot for your reply. I actually managed to get it working moments before you replied. It flashed to 2.0 successfully though and launched a back-up game.

I wonder if I could ask you one more question. I've got another Xbox and the Liteon 74850C DVD Drive in it doesn't seem to be working. I connect it to my PC using a CK3i and X360USB Pro but JungleFlasher doesn't see it. I need to get the drive key off this so I can put a replacement drive in. Is there any other way to extract it? Without it showing up in JungleFlasher my normal method using the Probe 3 is proving no use.
