Replacing MS25 Disc Drive for MS28

Hi everyone,
I have a Samsung SM25 Disc Drive that is dying. It gives me Play DVD error and sometimes the disc is not regonized. I have cleaned the lenses and POT calibrated to 3Ohms with a multimeter. It has improved a bit but didn´t fix the problem 100%. I guess my laser is really playing up now.
I have found a new SM28 disc drive for a good price and I was just wondering if I change only the PCB from the SM25 to the new SM28 is enough? Or do I have to spoof the drive?
I heard that MS can spot a spoof drive and you can banned you from live. As I play a lot online I don´t want to risk to get banned.
Can I just insert my MS25 key direct into the SM28 firmware instead of change the PCB and play?
