I want to flash my kreon drive but I haven't been able to find a guide. Thanks for any help in advance.

Kreon drives are and have been obsolete for some time now. But, you can get all you need using Google.

Yep Kreons are obsolete. You need two new drives:
1. To read/rip 360 games you need an Xbox 360 BenQ or Lite-On drive flashed with 0800 v3 firmware.
2. To burn properly you need a Lite-on iHAS124B iHAS224B iHAS324B iHAS424B iHAS524B or iHAS624B.

Could I still use it though? Would I have to take it out of the enclosure to flash it?

Wait, back up a minute. Are you saying that your Kreon needs to be flashed? If so, you can only flash it with Kreon v1.00 firmware. It will then rip only XGD1 & XGD2 discs. You will have to patch them wit ABGX360 for Xbox Live security.

The Kreon will not be able to rip the newest games (XGD3). To rip those you need an Xbox 360 BenQ or Lite-On drive flashed with iXtreme 0800 v3 firmware. A Lite-on iHAS124B iHAS224B iHAS324B iHAS424B iHAS524B or iHAS624B flashed with Burner Max firmware is needed to burn the XGD3 games correctly.
