Hi,
I have a samsung ms28 on lt2.01 and want to know how to patch and burn xgd3 to play. Could someone please explain or point me the way of a tutorial. Thank you

You're lucky as your drive doesn't support AP2.5, but it's still a good idea to patch games anyway, just in case that 360 ever dies and you replace it with one that does support AP2.5. I wouldn't go back and patch all of your existing games yet though - just do it if you ever have to replace the console - but going forward it's a good idea to patch backups and make a note of which ones you've patched, so you'll know what to patch/re-burn should you ever need to do it.

Thank you very much mate, been looking for a tut like this for like a day:), where it says dont bother patching old games does it mean i can play saints row and mw3 that i burnt with imgburn? and can i use imgburn instead of burner max?

What I mean by "don't bother patching old games" is, as long as the games were checked through with abgx360 at some point and they were OK, there is no need to repatch them with the new topology data that's required to defeat AP2.5 as your drive doesn't support AP2.5, but you might as well do that with new games before you burn them, then they'll be fine if you ever get a new console.
You can go back and patch all of your old games with topology data and re-burn them if you want to, but it won't make any difference with your current console as it has a Samsung drive in it, so there's little point in doing that. Only do it if you have to.
As for ImgBurn and Burner Max, ImgBurn is the software you use to burn the games. Burner Max is the firmware you flash a DVD burner with so that you can burn 100% of an XGD3 ISO to a disc. You should use both. Get one of the iHAS drives needed for Burner Max, flash it with Burner Max, then burn games using ImgBurn.
All of the tutorials and info you'll need are at the bottom of the thread I already linked you to, or in the first pinned thread at the very top of this forum section.

BTW, just to clarify, your backups will fall into 1 of these 3 categories: -
1. Not patched properly at all.
2. Patched for use with firmware pre-LT+ 3.0, so AP2.5 is an issue if your drive supports it (your drive does not).
3. Patched for use with LT+ 3.0, so AP2.5 is not an issue.
If your backups fall into category 1, you'll need to patch and re-burn them.
If your backups fall into category 2, you're fine, as your current console doesn't support AP2.5. If you were to get a new console that does support AP2.5, you would need to patch and re-burn those games.
If your backups fall into category 3, you're fine to play them on any console that either does not support AP2.5, or that is flashed with LT+ 3.0.
To check/patch games, just run them through abgx360. You can check burned discs with abgx360 too, but obviously if the backup is bad and needs patching (i.e. it falls into category 1 mentioned above), you would need to rip the disc to an ISO with ImgBurn, run the ISO through abgx360 to patch it, then re-burn it with ImgBurn.
Going forward, just run all ISOs through abgx360, then burn them using ImgBurn and a Burner Max burner.
