The last 2-3% of the ISO is cut off, so it's a bit of an exaggeration to say you only have 2/3 of the game, lol.
Truncating burns isn't a good idea though. Just buy a burner you can flash with Burner Max. You can pick one up for about £15/$25.

It means that it is likely not all of the data will be burned to the disc and therefore disc reading errors may occur.
Try searching, its fun.

Every truncated game I've played has played the entire game just fine, including Modern Warfare 3. Just don't take the truncated games online and you're fine.

It's less than half the price of what 1 game costs.

The problem with the burnermax drives and the custom firmware is it's not just as simple as buy the drive and you can burn 100%. Hop around the forums and you'll find TONS of people who can't get good burns, the discs still won't read, they can't find the correct settings to get good burns, etc... I have an awesome computer and have tried several different kinds of dual-layer discs with every group of settings you can imagine and I still can't get kprobe to give me good results on my burns. It's ridiculous!

I burn my games on a 12 year old pc with 1.5 gig of ram(maxed out), the drive is connected through a 4 year old via 6421 pci->sata card(terrible for optical drives) and my burns(verbatim only) come out great every time. I just can't burn at 2.4x speed, even with the 2.4x discs, I have to burn at 4x.

There are some people who are unable to get good burns no matter what, but the vast majority of people who seem to have problems are having them because they're either using the wrong settings or they're trying to use cheap discs. If you look on the Team Xecuter forums, there's a large thread where people are posting KProbe results and almost all of the people using Verbatims are having no issues at all, while all of the horrible looking KProbe scans come from people using poor quality media.
I had issues myself with c4eva's recommended burn settings, even with Verbatims, but I switched to using LightningUK's recommended settings and every disc I've burned since has been absolutely fine, so if you're using Verbs then in most cases it is just a case of experimenting to find the settings that work for you.

I have tried every setting imaginable on 2.4x and 8x Verbatims and I just cannot get clean burns. Believe me, I have tried every group of settings that have been posted on these forums. Grrrrr....

you probably didn't flash yours right. Mine works every time 100% burns, no issues ever.

Well, it said flash successful, I followed the instructions to a T. It lets me burn the full game, the drive recognizes the full amount of space on a blank dual-layer. I don't see how I could have flashed it wrong. Either you flash it and it works, or it doesn't work. It would be clear if I flashed it wrong, because it wouldn't recognize the full space on a blank dual-layer. And I know I flashed it with the correct firmware as I'm not retarded and it's very clear to read the difference between the 124, 224, 324 folder, etc...
Not to mention, when I put a full 100% burned game into my XBox, it recognizes it just fine and they even boot up most of the time, but then end up freezing during the intros or right when I start the game. Upon examining said discs with kprobe, it shows the shitty results. So I know I flashed it right, I'm just getting bad burns and I don't know why. I have tried every different combination of settings that have been posted.
Anyway, not really a huge deal. Every game I've truncated works just fine and plays through to the end, and I don't go on Live with my modded XBox, so I guess getting the full 100% burn is a moot point for me, so long as truncating keeps giving me the full game and it functions.

Last I heard, only Forza 4 can't be truncated so there is really no reason to bother with a new burner and all that jazz. And no, I don't care about live.
Thou, I'll be getting a x360key later this month so I'll leave behind all these issues.
