I'VE BEEN PLAYING TRUNICATED GAMES ONLINE FOR ABOUT A YEAR NOW WITHOUT BEING BANNED. JUST WONDERING WHY EVERYONE SAYS IT'S NOT SAFE TO GO ONLINE OR YOU WILL GET BANNED IF YOU DO?
First off, you don't need to write in all CAPS! The reason that they say it's not safe to go online with it, is because in reality it isn't safe. M$ still has ways up their sleeve to figure out if you're playing a legit game or backup.
You won't get banned like right as you play a backup, they usually flag your console if they find something suspicious, and then they ban it after you get a certain amount of flags.
Usually when a new update for the Dashboard comes out, it's wise to not update until they find out what is in the new update, cause sometimes it has new detection methods to find out.
Microsoft has, definitely, loosened their grip on Live in the last couple of years. However, if you've been doing this for a year, you're, almost, certainly flagged. Whether or not they actually do something about it is another story.
They have loosened their grip these days it seems like. I think it's cause they are prepping for their next console, and are soon gonna be watching that console 24/7.
