hi my xbox was standin in vertical position and suddenly fell and badly scratched the disc.....after it only plays fifa 11 and no other backups are workin that worked perfectly......the xbox is saying unrecognized disc to all the discs.....it happened after the incident and never before can u please help me??

Do original disks work?If not you may have scratched your laser as well.Sounds like you may need a laser replacement.Try your originals,a dvd,a audio disk and play them through.If there is any skipping involved in any of these disks then it could be a laser hop replacement or a pot calibration tweak.Do these checks first and report back.

Firstly dont quote you dont have any originals only backups as you may be banned from the forum and people will be reluctant to help you,so edit your previous post about not having originals just backups.Secondly try the checks on my previous post first.The laser maybe getting weak and may not have anything to do with the bashing/falling of your console,it may just be coincidence.The dye on burnable media is different to originals and may have trouble reading them.Try the checks first ie playing a audio cd and try skipping through the tracks,if there are jumps or your games pull back to the dash within the game,then most likely its the laser issue.If this is the case install all your games to a large hard drive for your 360,this will only spin the disk a couple of times and then read the game from the HDD.It will help preserve your dvd drive and laser a little longer as its not putting unnecessary strain trying to read burnt media.
