Hey guys, I recently had to change to a laptop, and I want to try and re-flash my drive. My Toshiba laptop is running Windows 7 64bit, and has an e-sata port. I've already downloaded JF 1.89, also downlaoded portio64. I was able to get JF to run, but it said no via card(ports?) detected... however the log at the bottom of JF says PORTIO64.SYS driver Installed. So my question is, am I ready to go at this point, or do I need to remove my e-sata driver first, then run portio64? I remember having to do that with my desktop when I WAS using a via card.
I've also searched through the device manager, I have NO idea which driver would be for my e-sata port. Any advice would be helpful.
With that being an on board controller you don't want to uninstall it. That does not mean it will be compatible, but is likely to be. You will just have to try it to see.
Thanks whompus. BTW, is it confirmed that if you use the console to power the drive, it flags you for a ban? I know this was always hear-say in the past, and I've read posts of guys doing that and never having a problem, but I just wanted to know if something has changed? I'm looking for a ck3 to power my drive right now... but i'm also impatient, and am thinking of just using the console for power.

WHO REALLY KNOWS FOR SURE? I have done it both ways due to driver issues with the ck3 and a hitachi....
either way console's are pretty cheap now 149.99(the price of two new games and a soda) ... and ban's are few and far between if they can prove you are modded and online.
