So I bought this Xbox with a broken drive. It did this same thing so I switch the drives out with a new one and put the old chip in it. Any reason why this problem is still happening? It never stops spinning unless you press the button to open.

was it a brand new drive? did you touch the laser when you put it in? are you sure the laser is good?
