hi guys.
today i broken a liteon drive, i have no idea why it wouldnt allow console to play backups but i messed with it that much it is now un-responsive and i get an error e64 i think on xbox.

ok, 15 minutes later i flashed the same drive model in a different console and it flashed first time and played successfully. have no idea what went wrong.

anyhow, where can i get the replacement drive from or does anyone know how to repair?
i have the key stored.

i have found some online but they are £30 plus, any cheaper?

E64 means wrong firmware. That can happen with a spoofed drive not on the latest firmware. Are you sure you can't re-flash it? If jungleflasher won't work dosflash should.

hi mate thank you for response been searching the web alot and found youtube video on dosflash although cannot locate where to download it.

when i plug it back in using x360pro usb the eject button doesnt work and jungle flasher says no device found- so for some reason the drive isnt being detected by my computer,

how can i fix this?
would dosflash still fix this?
if so where to find and can i boot via USB Stick ?

wow i read through some sites and read someone tried "lite-on erase" to a drive that wasnt being detected and then it was detected.. this is exactly what happened to mine and it now is being detected!

before i continue and break this drive again.

i do not have original firmware.
however i do have the KEY saved.

how can i go about making this back to stock (latest stock with my key)

then re-flash to lt3.0?

if it is a liteon drive then flash it to the appropriate stock firmware and write the key you have to it, then load lt3.0 and write that to it, dont try and spoof the drive to something else!

if you are sure that it wrote a key to the drive, and it would not play originals if you didnt, then i would say check your laser, try cleaning it with some alcohol and a cue tip, if that does not do it then check the pot settings to make sure they are ok.

just inserted forza 4, original genuine. played first time loaded almost instantly.

then i inserted fifa streets, back-up, 100% burn etc proper burn.

it brought up the following error code under disc unreadable

03-80-00

- i am genuinly baffled ive never experienced this problem before when flashing an xbox 360 :s

ok i just found the original dummy.bin that i got from the dvd drive BEFORE i plugged it back into the xbox 360 to do an upgrade to the latest dashboard.

the file says that my drive was:
lite-on dg-16d2s 74850c phatkey extract F77E4EF95B083089556337E0D23*****

ok so that was what i originally backed up as dummy.bin

i then went on to add target as 0251v3.0.bin which is where the problems began.

where do i go from here?

i think im going to sleep on this one, i have pulled my hair out so much today trying to find the problem and solve it but to no avail!

if anyone at all has any advice or has had similer problems and would like to share information that would be great

im even thinking of flashing back to 74850c stock which is where this console began when it came into my hands (although it was on older dash)

if i flash back to this stock, then flash to 0251 stock. then from 0251 stock to lt3.0 :s i dont know, my head is doing overtime

no mate i also tried MW3 and that is a 100% proper burn. and Fifa 12 which is also a 100% burn (these are the only 3 games ive burned since moving onto xgd3 games)

like i say i have 2 more consoles that i flashed today, they all work fine with my games and my own personal console works fine too..

i have no idea what is wrong with this one

ok i'm going on a hunch here without knowing the dash, write the original firmware to the drive, make sure the xbox is updated to the newest dashboard, then autoload lt3.0 write that and then tell me what happens, if the xbox is not above 13599 it will cause the issues you've been having 0251 was not introduced to the xbox until after that update!

will load the xbox up now and edit this post and let you know the dashboard

this is what happened in order:

1) booted xbox up on old dashboard to check if worked
2) disassembled xbox, took out cd drive and read the keys (which gives me dummy.bin, key, inquiry etc) which was on 74850c (as it says that in JF)
3) plugged back into xbox, without doing anything else to the drive (didnt flash the drive at this point) and updated to the latest dashboard
4) took out cd drive, flashed directly 0251 lt 3.0 onto it, i didnt re-check it or probe it just simply flashed it at this point
5) i then hit problems with originals working only but not back-ups

i will now check what the xbox has on it dashboard etc i will enter it all on this post

i can only assume the K is wrong, and assume that K stands for Key?
if so though, why is it playing original games ok if the key is wrong?

if the key was wrong it wouldnt play any games, do as i told you, download xbox update, use a usb stick to update the xbox then flash it and try again, the reason its not playing your backup is because the system is looking for different information than what you have on the disc.
