are you using the truncate option in IMGBURN? Or are you just burning it normally without a flashed dvd drive?

Seriously stock drives, they both burn to 100% and my games work ,I ve been a quiet modder for years and have backed up 100's of games with no problems ,I will be getting
a iHASxxx liteon to see the difference for my self . But you can do backups on stock drives.
And yes select TRUNCATE when burning with imgburn
Here ,check out this log from IMGBURN

you said "yes select truncate" but by doing that your only burning 97%. it might seem like you burnt 100% as imgburn will finish and make that sound, but in fact its not 100% you are wrong!!!!!! the game will play fine on the xbox and all will seem good but again its only 97%
if you are burning older games you will burn 100% but all new games (XGD3) games will only burn at 97% unless you flash your dvd drive with cfw

What scoob says is correct. The confusion arises because of this: -
Overburn - This tells ImgBurn to try and fit the entire ISO on the disc no matter what, but the disc is too small. The burn fails at 97% as the disc runs out of space, you finalise the disc, and the game works (although Forza 4 and possibly others will fail new checks if you burn this way).
Truncate - This tells ImgBurn to just burn until the disc is full, so when you see it get to 100%, that means that the disc is 100% full. It does NOT mean that you've burned 100% of the ISO as you've truncated it (cut the end of it off). You've still only burned the same 97% as you would have burned if you used the overburn method and Forza 4 (and maybe other games) will still fail the checks.
Using Burner Max allows you to burn 100% of the ISO to disc so that the new checks in certain games don't fail. If the overburn option was OK and burned 100% of the ISO to disc, there would be no need for Burner Max in the first place! In the long term, you definitely need to get one of the LiteOn burners and flash it with Burner Max, or you'll always only be burning 97% of the ISO on the disc which is OK with some games but not with others.
Also, I suspect that the next version of abgx360 may not support truncated burned games and ISO rips as one disc may have a few more or less bytes of capacity than another, which would lead to a different CRC. That's only an educated guess, but it would make more sense for them to only support untouched ISOs and discs that have been burned with Burner Max, as the CRC will match that of an original. Burner Max is the only way to get the layerbreak in the correct place too, which would be another issue for abgx360 as it would have to differentiate between truncated games with the layerbreak in the wrong place and 100% burns using Burner Max where it's in the correct place.

funksoulb, I'd be willing to make the same bet with ABGX. They traditionally gravitate to utilizing the safest known methods to verifying games and changing how they verify games once new information becomes available. Now we can only hope that Seacrest comes out of hibernation before Christmas to add XGD3/CIV support.
"All drives should be updated to Lite Touch + (LT+) firmware if playing on XBOX live. Samsung drives and pre-78/79 Hitachi drives do not utilize AP 2.5. All other drives are considered to be detectable by Microsoft (YMMV). Make sure all rips are ABGX verified, contain SSv2, and patched AP2.5 (where needed). XGD3 must currently be burned on new drive with PC Burner Max firmware for 100% rip. All modded consoles can be potentially unsafe for use on XBOX live."

I'll be using truncate until I get an xkey360. And I see no point in buying a new burner and probably verbs for Forza 4... cause its the only game that requires a full 100% burn so far.
Thou, I will cry a little if Skyrim and/or Saints Row The Third also require 100% but I like my odds so far.

X360dock seems like the better choice instead of xkey360

I've checked out x360dock and at this point, I believe the x360key has better support.
