Hi everyone, I've been out of the xbox scene for a while and I have just a few questions regarding the new XGD3 games. I'm looking to play the new Final Fantasy XIII-2 when it comes out, and I'm assuming since it will be a new game, it will also be XGD3.

Based from what I've read online so far, I will probably need a Lite-on ihas burner to even burn the game correctly. Is that right? Is there anyway I can still burn the game without a Lite-on burner/burner max and still play the game?

I have a fat xbox 360 with Iextreme LT2.0+ installed. Do I need to flash my xbox to LT3.0+ to play any of the new games? I don't play on xbox live so I could care less of being banned.

Thanks for the help.

You're best to follow what's in this thread: -

http://forums.afterdawn.com/t.cfm/f-152...irmware-921474/

You can burn XGD3 games without a Burner Max burner, but only by truncating them which can cause issues such as this: -

So I would only recommend following the advice in the first thread I linked you to. If you do it any other way, you may run into issues.

Thanks for the help. I think I'm going to go buy this burner. http://www.amazon.com/Lite--LightScribe...27681571&sr=8-3

Is there any other versions other than A? Hopefully I get a B version.

From what I can gather, all of those drives that were manufactured in the last couple of years or so are the correct revision.

As long as you get the correct model number in terms of the "iHAS" bit and the 3 numbers that follow it (either 124, 224, 324, 424, 524 or 624) then you should be fine unless you get really old stock and you're highly unlikely to get that from a retailer like Amazon.

Some of the reviews also mention that it's the correct model for Burner Max, lol.

Thanks for the help. Do you know where I could get Lightscribe Dvd-dl? I can't seem to find any online at a decent price. Are these just rare?

Verbatim 43684 are DVD+R DL Lightscribe discs if you can find some of those, but they've been discontinued.

Personally, I don't think Lightscribe looks anywhere near as good as getting an inkjet printer that can print on to discs though.

Also, if it's a choice between some wacky brand of DL discs with Lightscribe or Verbatim discs without Lightscribe then go for the latter, cos you need decent quality media to minimise your risk of getting crap quality/failed burns when burning XGD3 titles.
