Hi guys, i just noticed how sh**ty the PS3 scene is becoming so i'm jumping on the 360 bandwagon again. With that being said, can anyone tell me which should i buy, xk3y or wasabi? Also, i read that i need the drive.bin or something about the drive's bin information to place on a usb to go along with wasabai. All i know is that my Xbox 360 is flashed, from maybe a year ago but i have no firmware or backup of any types from this 360. Can someone lead me in the direction to how i can get this drive information that i need and let me know which product you guys think i should get?
Thanks alot guys and all reply's are appreciated, except trolls.
Cheers!

Since we really havent heard from the wasabi camp, I would say the xk3y is the way to go. As for pulling your drive key, there is a sticky at the top of this section. Basically its the same method as if you were going to flash the drive with custom firmware, but you wont be flashing it, just reading it.

Oh ok thanks man. I have a folder that came with alot of bin files for original stock benq drive. Can I use these or do they have to be the bin file from my cfw drive?
Thanks!

They have to be the bin file from "your" drive because they will have "your" specific key. The ones that are just stock fw have no key and they need you to add yours to them for them to work with your drive. All keys are different so you need yours because your drive key will match the key on your motherboard and allow your motherboard to accept that drive.

Oh ok, you totally cleared that up for me. I look at it this way, if i have to open up my xbox to get the bin, i might as well just flash my xbox with the latest flash and save money. The thing is is that I checked and the xkey is $100+. For that i flash it with the newest firmware and save money. Which flash is the latest i should go with, if you know by any chance? I think i already updated my dashboard to the latest. If you could tell me which is the latest, i'd really appreciate it. I'm going to tell you which one i have on my pc, which i was going to use but never did. .......... LT PLUS BENQ 2.0? I dunno if thats the latest. :/ hahah If you have an idea, please let me know.
Thanks alot!

Yes the latest is 3.0, but you must also remember, sure youcan flash your drive, patch the games, and play, but Microsoft is constantly updating the dash and other security features which causes you to not only have to open er up and flash your drive again, but you have to also wait for the guys who make the LT cfw to even make it for your drive which usually takes a couple of weeks, then on top of all that, you will likely have to patch and re-burn some of your latest affected games.
If you dont feel like being herded into a pen like the rest of the folks, just grab the xk3y and miss all of the madness, while also leaving your drive "stock" without cfw so that Microsoft can't detect a modified drive and ban you.
If you have a few extra dollars, I say go for it, if not.. flash away!

So it's not working for you? Also, is the xk3y still being updated by it's developers And how much do I have to fork over to buy it?

The xk3y seems to be the one that's getting support and regular updates. It's been updated numerous times since it was launched, with the last update being released on December 26th. Even though I prefer the design of the Wasabi 360, right now I wouldn't choose that over the xk3y.

I've been away from the xbox 360 scene, how much has M$ been jacking up security, alot?
@snickle A question and i am not asking this in a sarcastic manner even though it might sound like it. :D What makes the xk3y special that when m$ comes with the next counter-measure, it (xk3y) is sure to be still in the game? I imagine there is the possibility the xk3y gets stumped. Or am i missing something?
Thanks for the responses guys!

What makes it stand above the rest is the fact that the support team (as of now)has been on the ball and had fixes for M$ updates literally a day or 2 after being implemented wheras the C4eva takes a week or 2 to release new firmware so you can crack your box back open and flash. Not to mention having to fork out more dough for blank DVD's and hope you patch and RE-burn them right as opposed to not even having to touch the .iso's on your external xk3y hard drive. That combined with the fact that your 360 dvd drive remains unmodified thus theoretically protecting your console from being banned while also preserving the life of your dvd drive. You can even play games off of a usb thumb drive if you dont have an external hard drive. I dont see M$ defeating these things for a very long time if ever. As long as there are jtagable consoles around and people are able to dump, decrypt, and analyze the updates to see what needs to be changed.. M$ is screwed.
1 more thing, in the event that you end up with a newer xbox (you know, the ones that have the drive that cannot be written to), you can still use your xk3y in it. the keys CAN be read.

So with the xk3y, you dont have to patch or inject anything, 2.5 data or topology data? Just rip to your hard drive and play? Do you even have to run your iso by ABGX if you rip straight from your own original?

yes as long as the drive powers on, you can get the keys.
their is no guarantee xkey,wasabi,x360dock will work yrs from now. look at it this way:
360 slim: if it has winbond chip: perform kamikaze hack (hard & not good sucess rate) OR buy replacement board ($80). plus x360usb pro($70), blank verbs 4 ever(cost unknown), ihas burner ($20) your already looking at $170.00. plus all the time your going to spend taking console apart, reflashing, etc.
for all phat consoles: cheaper to flash.
downside: reflashing
for the iso's: doesnt matter if your using xkey,x360dock,wasabi, all iso's should be as close to the original, so they can be emulated correctly.
my suggestion: slim owners buy xkey or x360dock.
phat users: i would flash. but if your trying to get away from flashing. go with xkey or x360dock.
