If xK3y is in bypass mode or disabled, and I load an original game and use live, any threat posed?

well playing backups online is said to be a threat. My question is, can I play my backups offline with xk3y, then disable xk3y and go online with an original game.

Sure you can, thats the whole idea of bypass mode. You will be safe because your drive is not modified.

He's asking if he can go online with an original game, not if xk3y is safe for live.

I heard xk3y has bypass mode which lets you boot you a "normal" 360. I could then put in my legit game, play online, log off, enable xkey play backups offline.
When connected to live,xk3y is off if I am playing a legit game.

Nobody knows for sure except for the MS security team who deals with this. If you mod your box to play backups in ANY way... realize that there is a chance that you can be banned. If you don't want to run the risk of being banned... buy your games.
When the CF first came out for the 360, every iteration was "XBL Safe" until people were still getting banned.

The only solution would be then to partion the 360 into 2 partions both with 360 os. One for mods and one for not.(if this is possible)

Working on it being xbl safe all around or simply with backups on-line? Thanks!

Quote: He's asking if he can go online with an original game, not if xk3y is safe for live.
yes i know he was talking bout playing original game in "pass-thru", aka "drive mode", and thats what i answered. nobody knows if m$ can detect it when using "pass-thru"/drive mode, so ALL say that its not recommended cause m$ is always updating.
i have x360dock, and if i wanted to go online, i take it out of my slim 0225. (i make sure im gonna play a long time though). you can, but do so on your own risk.
working on xbl for both: pass thru & backups
exactly cawk, "Nobody knows for sure except for the MS security team who deals with this." i dont listen to anybody who tells me/listed on website, etc "that its safe for xbl" they are not m$, and they cant guarantee anything is safe!
if your console gets banned, you knew the risk!

no prob yankee. think bout this: m$ is already aware/ or becoming aware of:
1.)wasabi
2.)xkey
3.)x360dock
4.)boxzii
so its a matter of time til they can detect it. the more ppl go online with these, the sooner m$ will be able to detect them & try to stop them from working with new dashboards or ban ppl.
one way we can prevent this from happening is take em out when we go online, then they wont know what to look for.

Yup but it is too late. The only way I can see undetectable would be to inject isos into marketplace downloads where demos go.

This means that the key will have the ability of ripping an original disc to your usb hard drive
meaning no need for an 0800 drive for ripping

So open up yer box everytime you wanna go on live? Are you serious bro? The idea of the key is to never have to open the box again.

And, your idea is to somehow go and inject ripped game data into the MS mainstream? That is gonna keep you safe?
I think both of you should put them special brownies down and read over what you posted here

like how you jump in the convo toward the end, and know it all. if you think cfw, xkey or any other device like it is safe for xbox live, then you continue to live in that delusional world of yours. i still remember modding my xbox 1 console way before ppl even knew it could be done. i dont have time to argue/and will not engage with ppl who believe its completely safe, then end up a victim of being banned. guess we will see who gets banned and who doesnt.
ppl, everybody knows M$ is updating all the time, we are not M$, so anyone who tells you its safe to go online with a modified console is retarded, and you will be too for listening. go on xbl @ your own risk!

chum?
since you also wanna jump in, when the question was asked quote:
If xK3y is in bypass mode or disabled, and I load an original game and use live, any threat posed?
seems eveyone wants to give the wrong answer, and say "yes" its safe. anyone who believes "its 110% safe to go online either with a flashed console, or with xkey, wasabi, x360dock, or boxzii installed in their console is either "retarded or very misinformed.
p.s. im not a chum, watch the name calling. no need for it in the forums.

I might as well jump in also. Just so you know, he wasn't name calling. He was calling you a friend. Need the definition? Here you go:
chum ~
Noun:
A close friend.
Chopped fish, fish fluids, and other material thrown overboard as angling bait.
A large North Pacific salmon (Oncorhyncus keta) that is commercially important as a food fish.
Verb:
Be friendly to or form a friendship with someone.
Use chum as bait when fishing.
I seriously doubt he was calling you a fish.... You were saying that anyone that believed that Live with either a flashed or modified console was safe is "retarded". Now that's offensive. Don't be a hypocrite, (I'm not calling you a name, just so we're clear).
Don't get me wrong lilpup, I agree with you 100% on the fact that neither hardware modified (xk3y, wasabi, etc..) nor flashed are safe on Live. We all know the risks. Most of us have a legit box for Live, and either a JTAG or flashed console to play offline. Let's all try to get along and help each other instead of arguing. That's what these forums are for.

No one in here said anything is 100% safe on live, dont know where you you got that idea from. All I commented on was your idea of opening up your box and removing your key everytime you wanna jump on live and that "Backup original Xbox 360 games to USB hard drive" refers to the key having the ability to rip your own original disc to your usb hard drive without the need for an 0800 drive. And the insane idea of injecting game isos into the marketplace where demos go. If you cant take constructive criticism then maybe you shouldnt be posting in forums, chum.
