Just got my xKEY today but when I go to use it, it doesnt detect my external drive. I have a seagate 3TB 3.0 usb and I'm thinking that's the reason why it isn't picking it up. Does anyone have any insight on this? Thanks in advance

I have a Western Digital 2TB, USB 3.0 external and mine works fine. However, there are a few external hard drives that I've tried and that my friends have tried which the xkey would not recognize. It's kind of luck of the draw, I think, when it comes to which will work. Are you sure you have everything with the xkey installed correctly? Thumb drives have always worked for me. You should get a little thumb drive and put a game on there just to see if it will recognize that.

from what i have read, the xkey will only recognize up to 2 TB. so if you are using a 3TB drive then you have to create a 2TB partition as the main for it to work.

I think it might be what infam0us is talking about. I split the drive right down the middle (1.5 tb each) and nothing. Tried multiple formats when partitioning and still got nothing. I figured there was enough power going to it because the light to external was on and i heard it starting up. I'll need to go out and get a powered USB hub or something and see how that pans out.

Other then that, it works fine with other externals/flash drives. If the usb hub doesnt work ill just chalk this up a L in the loss column

You need to have the drive formatted with EXT, not FAT32 or NTFS. Format it to EXT4 using gparted.

NTFS works, but it's not preferred. EXT will give the best performance.

There is a new update out for the xkey. 1.27 which addresses some of the size issues.
