ive been on a cfw without any backup manager ive installed 3.55 official firmware but on my xmb i still have the install packages and other folders is this normal i want to upgarde to kmeaw CFW

this is the method i used installed the 3.55ofw via normal update but on my xmb i still have the install and other folders on there is this normal. ive updated to kmaew 3.55 throught normal xmb as it would let me.installed the lv2 patch installed the backup managers but when i press x on the managers it goes black screen
