PLEASE don't muddy my water! I just want this thread to stay on topic of a "new" MKV (20GB) to Blu-Ray with no loss of quality at all.

I read many of the pages in the stickied thread (PS3 compatible video creation thread... mkv2vob, tsMuxeR etc.. ) about using tsmuxer. I managed to follow them, got all the output files as expected. File played on my computer fine... not so on the PS3. The PS3 had audio but no video.

In that thread RYU77 had mentioned that he uploaded the new meGUI with profiles that could handle the MKV structure. However, that link is DEAD... :( Stupid internet! lol

I did all the right things, change the UDF 2.5, in tsmuxer the profile was 4.1High. This is not about some conversion setting -- this is about the MKV's are different (I believe). I checked multiple guides to double check my work.

I would like to find (or contribute to creating) a MKV to Blu-Ray guide that has the 'new' MKV's in scope. So far I am down 2 blu-ray disks and ALOT of hours ... (yes, I finally bought a re-writable disk, but money is tight so it's only 2x which is PAINFULLY SLOW... mostly overnight operations... feels like I am BBS'ing again!)

Thanks in advance!

Are you still looking for answers?
I've done many mkv to avchd which is pretty much the same.
It sounds like your video might be non-standard.
What is the resolution of video & audio?
AFAIK The ps3 will only play 1280x720 or 1920x1080.

If it's not one of those I suggest using multiavchd. (it also authors BD)
Multiavchd can uncrop the video to 720/1080 and create menu & chapters.
http://multiavchd.deanbg.com/

Since a 20gb file will take a long time to uncrop I suggest loading the mkv into tsmuxer.
Level 4 or 4.1 is good. choose ts muxing. open the 'split/cut' tab and enable cutting 0-5 minutes. It will cut the file and make it smaller for testing. Take that ts file and load it into multiavchd.

In multiavchd, click on transcode.
The transcode screen will tell you what resolution the file is and what it will uncrop it to. choose 1 pass turbo for quality. click apply. click ok. choose your destination path and press start. choose blueray for output.

Once finished that file should be small enough to burn on a dvd-rw. (ps3 should play it)
test it. if it works just load the complete 20gb mkv into multiavchd and uncrop it the same way. this time it will take hours tho.. you can also play with the authoring options within multiavchd for chaptering and menu. Hope this helps.
