I am using the ps3 to back up original games on to a external hard drive using multiman on 1.16. Been going well, I have PS3 3.41 with E3 card reader running e3fw-Hermes_v4b-kakroto.
Games have been backing fine until today, I backed original copies of marvel vs capcom and assassins creed brotherhood, they are on my external drive I'n GAMEZ start to boot but no game start, any ideas please.
Not sure about mvc but acb is very large has like 3 or 4 split files on external. To run it has to be on internal. It runs well with multiman. I have it and I use multiman.
I have AC Brotherhood on external hdd and it works fine.
also note with multiman 1.16 they have not included the payload, you need to install the payload in order to run backups.
Easiest way is to use BDEMU.pkg a simple google search will point yo in the right direction. This will install the payload onto the ps3 and get things working again.

The BDEMU.pkg sounds like it will solve a few problems, you just download and instal once, and that's it?
