I tried to play it with rogero, ran it from folder icon, with sigma 2 bd in the ps3.
I tried to play it with lv2 patch and then rogero, with devil may cry 4 in, from blue ray icon. Tried all 3 lv2 patch options, each 1 after a reboot.
Also tried with gaia and no lv2.
In all cases I got an unresponsive black screen. Couldn't press the ps button to quit game and the ps3 would close via button, making 3 bips before it did. Prolly mors code for "every machine in ur life will f u up"...
But, when ran the 1st option of lv2 patch, Syscall36, I found my system rebooted by itself after leaving the black screen be for some time.
I also backed up rachet and clank: quest for booty with and ran rogero with sigma 2 bd in(no lv2 patch). Same unresponsive blackscreen. I noticed the bd stoped spinning after a while, don't think that happened previously. At this point, I would be surprised if a windows blue screen popped up, with a message saying: "With ur luck, this is never going to work..switching off to save power"
EDIT: My ps3 is opened up all the time(don't ever open the casing of a umd and put it in the ps3........). Sometimes the bds won't spin(ps2 games always spin) and then I clean the laser with a q-tip and eventually it works. Think any of this has anything to do with anything?

What is that option? When do I press that? I've searched online and no1 says when to press that combo...
I pressed it when choosing the game in multiman, nothing different happened. I pressed and held it when I tried to play the game from the blue ray icon. Nothing happened.
I also tried to direct boot rachet and clank: quest for booty, with ninja ghaiden sigma 2 in the blue ray drive. It kicks me back to xmb, instead of a lasting blackscreen.
For that option to work I think you have to put it on external drive. I have not had a black screen game but did read about some. You use the option when selecting the game in the manager.
I thought u need smaller than 4 giga games to play them from an external drive. I don't know if I do and the games I want to backup are larger, anyway.
EDIT:
A friend of mine has the 40 giga eurpean version. I have the 60 giga european version(CECHC04).
He has done exactly what I have. He is the 1 that led me through the whole process.
We both have ninja gaiden sigma 1. He backed up his and I backed up mine. His backup works, my doesn't. Both our bds work fine, I have finished the game in the past and loaded it successfully now.
I suspect that my ps3 being opened up all the time has sth to do with this. I had it opened in the past and my mother accidentally cut the small wires that connect the blue ray drive to a sensor that lets it know when a disc is inserted. So I have it opened and removed part of the blue ray drive, for a long time now. Every time I want to change a game, I shut it down.
