Hi All
I don't know if my question has been asked or answered on hear but I have searched on hear an on other forums and can't find an answer.

I am new to the ps3 scene and I have just put one together after buying parts off ebay

I bought 40GB Cechg03 ps3 with YLOD it had been fix before and also a used 40gb Motherboard Cechg03 that is working same board as the one with YLOD but it came without Bluray drive or controller boarb.

I have put new board in and it a powers up ok and I get a start-up sound,but I have a problem with the drive it wont play disks.

1) When I put a game in the disk timer I think that's what its called (next to the clock)it spins for awhile then stops but the disk dose not show in menu

2) When I put a music CD in the timer spins for awhile then stops and shows disk in the menu I also get all the CD info,if I try to play the CD it dose not play and when I cancel it I get the data is corrupted.I know the CD is fine

3) The disk spin when I put it in the drive and eject ok to.

I have been told its the board in the drive I need to swap or on mine it maybe located under the drive.
But I don't have another Bluray drive board' and to find a matching one i understand is hard.

What am thinking of doing if possible is to take the chip off my board that has YLOD and fit it to the working mother board.

I understand that the Bluray drive controller is keyed to the main motherboard by the BGA chip but does anybody know which chip on the motherboard the BGA chip is keyed to.

I have a mate who is a tv engineer who is able to remove the chip he said if he know which one it is.
