the word you're looking for is downgrade... you cant just jailbreak upper firmwares... you need a flasher plus usb jig(for downgrading after flashing)... then you be all set... keep in mind all that cost around 90 bucks or so and you will have to open your console.. 90% of people who come here ask about downgrade and hear this... wont do anything due to cost and one time use of the flasher/usb jig.... unless you plan to make money from the flasher... by either selling it or downgrading few consoles... anyway there's no easy way... either get a ps3 with 3.55/4.XX CFW or get a flasher...

well for starters what console do you have? fat? slim?

this one if for 2xxx slim and the last models of the fat line... you cant downgrade 3k and 4k models

you will also need usb jig

one of these will do the trick take note that you will have to program them

Hi, Cyprien I have 2 of them and one has cech-3001a and the other one I cant tell but its the fat model with the glossy black case its the older of the two. Thanks

the slim 3k cant be downgraded... but the fat if its not old can be downgraded...

to check for console lowest firm get this file

put in a usb use these dirs /PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP update from the XMB don't worry it will not update the console.... BUT will fail and tell you the lowest firm you CAN install using a downgrade... the fat models you CAN downgrade anything above CECHHxx in general you CAN downgrade any fat unit... but due to NAND usage it becomes pain in the ass due to having 2 chips and the fact you need to solder...

slim consoles that can be downgraded if you're wondering.... models from CECH-20xxA(2009) to CECH-25xxB(2010 sometimes 2011 if it comes with 3.50)

that's about it ^__^
