like an idiot i upgraded my ps3 to fw 3.66 so i was wondering if there was a way to jailbreak it so i can play backup disc of would i have to downgrade the firmware? Also i have read of a few ways to combat cinivia but none of them work for me as disconnecting from the internet wouldn't allow me to watch my movies as i use ps3mediaserver to stream to my console, any advice here would be great

Kind regards
Russell

currently there is no way to downgrade fw 3.66
jailbreak will not work either. to go/play online you will need fw 3.60 or above

For the cinivia, try renaming the files to something else. e.g. "harry potter 5" to "harry potter 5 " or "harry potter-5"

I think the ps3 keeps a log of files played and found to be non genuine audio thinggy which cinivia works on. So renaming the files makes it look like a completely different video and no internet means it canno go online to check it.

As for jailbreaking, as xbox09 said, that is a definitely no atm.

I can assure you, that is utter nonsense ..nothing on the planet can get rid of Cinavia at the moment.
