Quote:I believe the issue with our video and audio is loose port connections.
When we first got the PS3, the HDMI port did not even work, but since the TV we had at the time did not even have HDMI capability, we didn't really concern ourselves with it. The PS3 is probably 3 or 4 years old, and now it seems that the port connections for the video and audio out are loose. If I wiggle the cables I can get audio, and at one point that worked for video too, but now I can't even get proper video. Wish I had a photo to show you of how the video looks. Basically anything white, including text, has a green or purple "shadow" to it. Not sure if this info helps, but I know it's not the settings that's the issue...
This first email is talking about problems with the component cable port. This is a follow-up email:
Quote:It's the component cables that we are currently using that seem to have a loose connection to the port. We haven't tried HDMI in a long time, since it never worked from the beginning. Maybe my husband can be more specific on that.
I'm going to have more information for you when I get my hands on the console itself. Any suggestions of what to look for and think about in the meantime? Thanks everyone.
