Did you check the md5 to make sure it matches that of the guide? Did you install 3.55 kmeaw via recovery menu?

It passed the md5 check, and recovery menu as in thru safe mode?

Sorry for the double post, but after trying time and time again through the recovery menu I recieve the message: The data is corrupted (8002F2C5)

You are running OFW 3.55 correct. I recommend you build your own Kmeaw CFW.

Are you sure you are on 3.55, not 3.56?
Maybe the download did not complete or became corrupted, try downloading from another source.

I believe I'm on 3.55, whatever it is newest available software the PS3 asks you to update to.

3.56 is the latest but DO NOT update to 3.56, it blocks jailbreaking.
Try downloading kmeaw cfw from another source.
Oh you said the latest teh ps3 asks you to....that's 3.56 and as said thats blocks jalbreaking....

You're right it is 3.56 , is there any way to downgrade to 3.55?
