help my ps3 wont puck up my external hard drive ane more

i tried to format it to fat on my pc but still nothing

if my ps3 wont find my hard drive i cant format it on my ps3

Did it ever see the drive?

If not....How did you format on the PC? Windows now uses eFAT instead of FAT32 which is the format the PS3 can see. You you can't just right click and then select format. You can use a number a different partition program like Partition Magic to format a drive to FAT32 in windows. I believe you can use CMD prompt line too. Something like the one below should work with the letter being the drive you want to format.

format d: /FS:FAT32

If it did see the drive at some point it could have become corrupted.

If windows no longer sees it change housing to known good one or place hdd directly into comp & see what happens as for a free partitioning tool
