how do i find out which firmware a ps3 has before i buy it like say it has no box how do i find out which firmware it has
r if it does have a box where do i look on it for the firmware

In XBM scroll to System then scroll down to system settings. Once your in system settings you need to select system information. Your firmware version would be the first on the list.
As far as I know the FW version is not printed anywhere on the box.
