Formatting a USB drive.

What format does the USB Drive need to be in for multiMAN (or any other backup manager) to recognize it? My western digital 1TB won't get recognized by any of the backup managers. This same HDD wil get recognized by my Xbox 360 JTAG, and also my soft Modded Wii. I know the PS3 has a format option for the internal HDD, but does the PS3, or any of the backup managers have a format option to do this?

Won't recognize Seagate 1TB (NTFS, Fat32 nor exFAT)
Won't recognize Seagate 500GB (NTFS, Fat32 nor exFAT)
Won't recognize Seagate 500GB (2nd drive) (NTFS, Fat32 nor exFAT)
Will recognize WD 250GB (Fat32)

the latest version of multiman works on fat 32 and ntfs

My one Seagate 1.5 I had to use CompuApps SwissArmyKnife to format so my PS3 would recognize it.

All other consoles saw it fine, but my PS3 wouldn't

all the usb drives i have used have all worked on the ps3. right now i have a 1tb simpledrive that i got from frys for $60. i aalways use swissarmyknife and it never fails.
