well if you open the ps3... the dvd/bluray drive will be on the right... now there's one cable going from the drive to left that's the power cable... now the ribbon cable is located under the drive if you lift the drive you will see i goes under the PSU(power supply unit)... now if you remove the power supply... you will see the ribbon cable connected... now check the connection of the ribbon cable and the power cable... its not hard really.... ^_^

Everything is connected correctly still get it. Can I downgrade to 3.55 directly from sare mode withiut bricking my system?

i don't think using a different cfw will help... but you're welcome to try the 3.55 from rebug... i think we will go to more drastic measures if this will not be solved... either trying to go dex with the ps3.... since replacing the laser does not cause this kind of behavior... pcb replacement does...

Tried different firmwares, nothing changed. Could it be the nand chip? I heard that if its moved or scraped it could cause this. Do you or have you heard of anything that may cause this that is software related?

they didn't brake anything per say... BUT there is something wrong... there's few things we should try to see if they replaced the pcb of the drive... do you have a bluray movie? usually some folks who replace the drives pcb and marry it to the ps3 forget about the bluray movie play back.... if no bluray movie is inserted after the remarry processes is done it will not play bluray movies lol... anyway.. we could try and remarry the drive if you like.... or... you can go to the folks who fix the ps3 and beat the poo poo out of them with the ps3... or talk with them.... or whatever.... i do prefer the beating part though :3

By the way, there is no sound at start up or at all. So the sound chip is probably busted.
