Help with rogero 4.4 PLZ

I got a ps3 from a guy on craigslist. was running beautifully and whatnot, came with 20+ games on it and rogero 4.4... i logged onto it today to find a message saying Press home button to start.. then tells me that it can't launch and needs me to insert storage media with 4.4 or higher.. i downloaded 4.4 and put it on a newly formatted FAT32 USB STICK, Ran the MD5 checker and put it in a folder called USB/PS3/UPDATE/ PUP FILE..'

The playstation still tells me when i launch it and press start and select to update that
there is no update data available and prompts me to insert a new media device..

Any help please??

well for one... did you do anything to the system prior to "system cant run press PS to restart" anything from reactpsn to spoofer?... the pup file should be named PS3UPDAT.PUP if its anything else it wont register the file... /PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP
