I am trying to play GOW collection (EUR version) from internal hdd. After loading the menu, when choosing GOW 1 or GOW 2 it sends me back to ps3 menu. I have tried to load it both with or without DVD. I am running backup manager 2 with ps3key firmware 2.3.
I used comgenie's filemanager to transfer game from external to internal.
Any ideas?

Happened to me with Sports Champions using OM 1.16 and hermes v3.
I thought it was strange considering it apparently works on the older managers.
Dont know of a fix, maybe delete and re-rip it.

i found the solution... I had to unzip the game in ntfs hdd since it has >4 GB files. Then use comgenie split manager. Then transfer it to my fat32 partition and then to internal hdd with comgenie filemanager. Now loads just fine.

A few more details that will probably seem interesting to you.
1st case:
You have an original game that contains files > 4GB. Extract it in internal ps3 hdd. Then if you transfer it from internal to external using comgenie filemanager, files >4GB will be splitted automatically.
when transfer it back to internal using comgenie, the large files will be merged again. Success!
2nd case:
If you own a game that contains files > 4GB and you want to make a backup but you prefer to download it than rip it do the following. Download it and unzip it (if zipped) in NTFS hdd. Then split it using comgenie split manager -> transfer it in a fat32 hdd or partition (I have an external hdd partitioned in both ntfs and fat32)-> transfer it in internal ps3 hdd using comgenie filemanager. Splitted files will be merged automatically. Success!

I am trying to play GOW Collection also, but my problem is a bit different. I have ftp to the internal hard drive. Using ps3yes with hermes v4b and open manager 2.1h the game acts like it is going to load fine, but once launched from the game folder (patched) or using a disc it simply goes to a black screen and freezes.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I havent used FTP to transfer game from internal->external and external->internal.
I dont know what happens with files >4gb. If you can transfer files from NTFS to internal with FTP then no problem. If not, then you should spit it first with comgenie split manager in NTFS -> copy it to FAT -> transfer it to internal ps3.
I repeat once more that I have never used ftp with ps3 so I am just guessing...
I hope I gave you some info.

Ok, got it working. I had it patched to run without disc and was trying to run it with or without disc. It worked when I unpatched it and tried with a disc.
Thanks
