I'm running the latest Debian package on my 3.55 using BootOS from choko & latest lv2 patcher to boot it.
I use a USB keyboard and iphone for the mouse, It works a treat
I tested the multiple hdd idea and it does work, though that was on gameos on both hdds, not sure if it will work if one hdd is gameos and other is linux.
You can install linux, but only on a hacked ps3, so if you are 3.56+ then you cannot atm until someone creates cfw for those firmwares. 3.55 and below you can reinstall linux again.

LOL CFW...what a great I idea....too bad my son upgraded both PS3's to 3.60
**time to beat the kid :)**
Just kidding.
Ok thanks for your help.
Cheers,
Yes an X interface runs fine, XFCE runs the quickest. I used the interface that installed with the Debian setup as it seemed to have everything with it including BT.

I also tested 2 HDD's, 1 with gameOS and the other with Linux wich also works....
Don't beat the kid, he may grow up and be bigger than you then you would need a stick and that's not good lol
